Can my old GHDs be repaired?
Yes we can repair all GHD models as long as the plastic is not broken or cracked including the mark 3, which we believe the manufacturer no longer repairs. We also repair mark 4 and all special edition sets. For broken or cracked GHDs please see below.
The plastic is broken or cracked.
Perhaps the plastic is completely snapped and broken on one of the GHD arms? Maybe the plastic is cracked due to being dropped or a heavy item being placed on the GHDs? If the plastic is broken or cracked then please get in contact with us to discuss whether we can help you.
The GHDs turn off after a short period of time.
This could be due to a faulty thermistor inside the pair of GHD hair straighteners. We can easily repair this fault.
One GHD plate does not heat up at all.
There could be a wire loose or broken plate. The thermistor could be attached to that broken plate. The other plate (arm) then might be heating up too much. The unit is faulty and should not be used until we have repaired it.
When I move my GHDs they turn off.
The cable to the GHD unit is faulty, but this problem can easily be fixed by us.
The light keeps flashing.
Again this could be a cable issue and we can easily resolve this GHD fault.
The light is very dim.
This is most likely a heater element problem. We can replace faulty heater elements.
Other faults.
