GHD ReturnsIf you have to return your GHD's to our repair centre for any reason please click on the 'HOW TO PACKAGE' page to ensure that your GHD straightners reach us without getting any damage in the post. Please mark the address clearly on the envelope and mark your house name/number and post code on the back of the envelope. Select the right model for you. If you plan to use them simply for everyday general usage, the standard mk4 styler is probably the most suitable. If your hair is very thick or long we would always suggest the mk4 "salon styler". This model is also suited to afro type hair and for the softening of hair. Finally for those with veyr short or very soft hair the "mini styler" is the perfect tool for the job.
Preparation is the key. Always ensure your hair is clean and well brushed prior to styling. Use a suitable shampoo for your hair type and a good quality conditioner. Make sure your hair is rinsed well after washing, and even try using cold water as this can boost your hairs shine. Once your hair is completely dry you can begin to style, however if you have particularly thick or curly hair it is recommended to style the hair when it is slightly damp for the best results.
Protect your hair. It is worth us mentioning again how important using the right shampoo and conditioner is. Get that right and the finished result will be stunning. If you have very dry hair, ghd offer their "replenish" shampoo and conditioner. If your hair is damaged the "nurture" range from ghd will help restore and repair, due to special proteins which can help hair grow. Finally if you have dull or lifeless hair the shine can be replenished using the "guardian" range.
Straighten the right way. Start by dividing your hair into sections by using hair clips or bands. A section should be around an inch flat so as to fit well between the ceramic plates. If your hair is particularly fine, try holding your ghds at a 90 degree angle and apply some light pressure. For very curly and frizzy hair be sure to use the wider stylers. Start straightening at the root, taking care not to touch the scalp, and slide the irons to the tip, until the degree of desired straightness is achieved. If you want a wavy curly root, turn the irons to 180 degrees and slide from root to tip.
Straighten for Curls! If you are curling thin hair be sure the hair is totally dry beforehand however if the hair is thick it should be slightly damp. To achieve a salon natural look, make the division in the hair larger towards the neck and smaller around your face.
Properly Prepare. If you have particularly frizzy hair, getting the look you desire might not be that easy. It may be necessary to treat the hair before styling. GHD "obedience" cream is perfectly suited for this task. Simply work it through the hair with your fingers and begin styling. The heat works with the cream to help maintain the style for longer. In order to boost the hairs shine and protect from damage caused by the heat GHD offer the thermal protector spray. When applied to damp hair the protector can help with both shine and maintenance. Finish the style. By using the right finishing product you can hold the style for longer. For those with thicker hair use the GHD shine serum. This can both flatten frizz and boost shine. A small amount is all that is required and should be applied to the hair from the ends down to the root. Use polishing serum on thinner hair as this will not only boost shine but reduce any "static". |
